Description

Vikititi gathered together her army and supplies and they all boarded a fleet of ships to make the long journey to the Land of Punt. As they approached the shores of their destination, they were spotted by observers, who had never before seen such a sight! To be continued... I wasn't sure that I would be able to do this justice, but I'm glad to say that Vue allowed me to render this more or less as I had planned. Huge thanks for stopping by and for all the comments on the story to date! Phil

I really like this. Colors are very vivid, image is sharp. Please allow me just two suggestions: a) I may be mistaken but it seems you used just a water plane and the waves in the water are achieved with the bump in the water texture. That doesnt create very realistic waves, specially in the open ocean like this seems to be. For example, where the water touches the ships, we see it's just a straight line. A good realistic water is achieved, as the manual suggests, with a procedural terrain with the node "open ocean" (there are other better nodes, IMO, like the chipped noise, but it's just a personal taste). b) for the ships to be moving, they would be leaving a foam trail. Here's a good tutorial on how to achieve one: http://paroge.com/vde/tutorial/default.htm Keep up the good work!

Wow, very well done. The other nitpicky commenter here is correct - bow waves and wakes are missing. But the overall crystal clear render is a thing of beauty. Vue users who know what they are doing can render incredibly beautiful and realistic seascapes - and you clearly know what you are doing in Vue. Good job Phil!
