Description

The battle between the Egyptians and the people of Punt was evenly matched, with losses on both sides. Then, as suddenly as they had appeared, the Punt withdrew, leaving the Egyptians on the plain. An hour later, an envoy from the King of Punt arrived at the Eyptian camp. Presented before Vikititi herself, he explained that this was the way of his people - the battle acted as a test, and the Egyptians, by standing firm and fighting bravely, had passed the test with flying colours! The next day, Vikititi met the King and Queen of Punt, each presenting gifts to the other. With trade terms readily agreed, Vikititi would be able to return with all the exotic goods and spices that she had come for! To be continued... Historical note: The best known real female pharaoh (after Cleopatra) was undoubtedly Hatshepsut who did actually mount an expedition to a land called Punt, although it is still disputed exactly where that is. Excellent scene! However you've spoiled us.. I'm missing your crowds and can't imagine what a great one this could be with colorful feathers on their hands and bamboo shields... :)
