Description

APO & PS Hi All...and Happy Saturday! This one's for Jilly (JillianElf), a brilliant artist, and a woman I am happy to now call friend. She mentioned after my yesterday's post that she was partial to obsidian...so this one's yours, Jill...a small orb, obsidian inside :) A little about the stone: Obsidian is a powerhouse in the stone world. It is an igneous rock, not considered a true *mineral* because it is not genuinely *crystalline* despite its clear black appearance. It is thought to dispel negativity. Contrary to popular belief, its blackness is not one of dark connotations, but rather, it absorbs and, banishes negativity. Because of this, it is particularly useful for those sensitive creatures prone to depression. It corresponds to the planet Saturn, Saturday, and also represents agriculture (growth), creativity, fortune and hope, but, mostly, protection. I've never previously done a fractal series of anything of any importance to me, but I'm thinking I'd love to do a run of various stones and their representations here. Any suggestions? I'd really love some leads if you're up to it. I think it would be challenging and great fun to seek them out. Wishes for a great weekend..And, always, again my thanks to each of you for previous comments. You're a brilliant and wonderful bunch..and I'm touched beyond measure to have you in my life...even if confined to this little online venue. Your presence far exceeds the boundaries of this place :) Thoughts and hugs! Nancy~*

Wonderful image Nancy!! I can honestly say i had never even heard of this stone before, so thank you very much for this. Even though your stone from yesterday is my all time favorite, i am also partial to ruby. Would love to see what your creativity can come up with for such a beautiful stone.

Oh boy! A series! and on stones, or crystals, or gems .. they all qualify, right? This one is a beauty. I like how the obsidian is set in this very old gold setting! A ring perhaps? Amethyst and topaz, how about those? or just plain old quartz crystal?

Wonderful depiction of an intriguing stone, dear Nancy (and one of my faves) How about Mookaite (Australian Jasper) another one of my faves and a very beautiful stone imparts a desire for new experiences and the calm with which to face them...just a suggestion, though...you know as well as I how many fascinating and wonderful stones there are to choose from Once again, excellent, mi hermana !!! WooHoo! A whole series of these beauties! Aside from amethyst, I've always been partial to Rinbow moonstones, I love the bluer one's and each one I get has an inclusion of some dark black leftover from when it was formed. I feel it adds more mystery to an alredy mystic stone. Keep 'em coming, this is going to be delightful!
