Description

Nikon 7900 image. I have seen one of these just a few times over the past couple of years and have managed to get only one rather poor shot. At last one actually perched long enough and close enough for me to get a decent shot. Not a great shot, but at least a decent one. It is as close to a red Dragonfly as we have in my area but the color is a lot closer to being hot pink than red, lol. The females and juvenile males are basically brownish. If I have ever seen one of them I did not realize it at the time. Thanks to those who take the time to comment.. Lee

Very nice work, I have tried without any success to get a good focused image of Dragonfiies, they are always too qick for me. A beautiful capture.

Wow! It almost doesn't look real, except for the color graduation where his wings are... Wonderful capture. I know dragonflies are extremely hard (at least for me, they seem to know when to fly at me to make me run!) to capture in photograph. Nice place to get him too, the compo is perfect! Well done! :o)

If I got one like this they would hear me shouting it out in Australia. It is a great shot, not fantastic like your's usually are but great none the less. I like the colour of this one and the background makes it look like it is in its natural environment, near water. The reflected overcast sky really makes this critter stand out. It is a shot that I would be proud of. Bravo!!!!!

A beauty of a shot, I love the trees reflected in the water, as well as the star of the shot.

This is really a great shot. I love the silvery tones that surround the DF and draw attention to it. Good clean shot. The last few days I have had a couple dozen large DFs circling over the front and back yard at about roof-top level but no matter how long I stand and wait, they never touch-down. What's with that??? So close yet so far away... LOL
