Recurring characters from “the Table of Five”, a Dungeons & Dragons campaign set in the Silver Marches of the Forgotten Realms. ““You came!” Talindra rushed to embrace her sister. She knew the sending spell from the scroll had worked, despite being several levels above her skill… but she wasn’t sure Nykira would come! With only a glace toward the others, the Nightstar sisters rushed up the stairs and burst through the doors to their father’s chambers. “Nykira!?!” Teaghen stammered in clear surprise. “You’ve come just in time,” she said softly, regaining her composure and wiping the tears from her eyes. “I don’t think he has much longer.” Nykira looked past the sun elven beauty, several decades her junior, to the pale figure lying upon the bed. Her father, Faelar, matriarch of the Nightstar House of Everlund, whose absolute authority she could only escape by fleeing into the life of an adventurer, lie in fevered, fitful sleep… his pale skin an ashen hue and beads of sweat covered his brow. “I told you he was near death,” Talindra’s lyrical voice carried none of its normal joy. “What illness can not be cured by divine magic?” Nykira asked bitterly…” The Nightstars of Everlund resisted the Retreat and kept to their holdings, but barely held on to them while their merchant business withered. With the return of the elves to Faerun, their fortunes turned and, under Faelar’s hand, they have risen to a position of wealth and influence. Father to Nykira and Talindra, his wife died several decades ago, but he found solace in the arms of Taeghen Laelithar, a sun elven beauty younger than both his daughters. Faelar has reign over the noble moon elven house in Everlund with an iron fist, driving Nykira from the comforts of their home to the life of an adventurer. Although Nykira rarely spoke of her family and home, when Talindra’s sending told her that their father was dying, her companions convinced her to race back to Everlund. There the Table of Five discovered that Faelar’s “illness” was poison, which Faeryl neutralized, and uncovered a plot to seize control of both the Nightstar and Faerondarl family holdings. The Table of Five wintered at the Nightstar estate, giving Nykira the opportunity to mend bridges with her father, spend time with her sister, and even come to accept Teaghen’s and Faelar’s relationship, leaving Everlund in the spring with her families blessing.
