Description

Just a pause before you are deluged by the animal shots... (or not: i might just continue with whatever takes my fancy). This is the view at night from where i live. It is a converted stable house much like the one in the foreground (except we have a tin roof and a concrete floor rather than no roof and poo...) This is one of the good nights and with the naked eye this isnt quite visible like this... it is a 30" exposure on !GASP! ISO 3200! It turned out alright tho. Lighting was done by a flash unit fired a couple of times here and there with me running around trying to hit the spot in the time limit... much fun was had, more so with the result of my efforts. The Great River (from memory) is the translation of the Quechua word for the Milky way: "Mayu". I could be wrong, but i like the term anyway so it stuck ;) Hope you like it! Rich

Wow, stunning work Rich! This night shot is stellar (pun intended). I admire how you working in the lighting on the ground and still captured the milky way in such rich detail. I can just imagine you running around, hahaha. Find Paddington yet?
