G'day Chris thats a great shot a seller for sure. Lens - Well that totally depends on 1. How close you can get 2. What the light is like 3. What type of effect your after. There really is no one lens to cover sport it's how you want to capture it. Most pro sports shooters use a 300mm lens for a couple of reasons 1. They can fill the frame with the subject (very important) 2. Shooting with that lens enables them to back off the subject cutting down the focus distance therefore blurring out the background. But they also carry another camera with 50mm or something similar Of course we can't all afford a f2,8 300mm lens so I'd go for something flexible seeing you on the inside, say a 40 - 150mm zoom. Have a play with your aperature settings early on in the day to see if you can blur out the backgrounds. Opening your lens also has the benefit of being able to use faster shutter speeds. Hope that helps, good shooting :-) Peter

Wonderful pic and colour.. I think with a tele zoom around 70- 200 is ok to make great pics..and the DOf is always great and you can do superb pics. I wat to see your great action shot. Hugs my friend

Well, talking about lens, I think it is great that you didn't use the telelens on this one... the lonesome biker in the air makes it a fantastic image ! No people watching ? Motocross is kind of national sport in my country (Belgium) I'm sure you heard about Jobé, Malherbe, Geboers,... they all have been world champions ! belgium.gif Take care and hugs my friend !

OMG, what a fabulous capture of the adventurous soul soaring through the air to land, I know not where...I hope he landed safely without mishap and motored on his way. Excellent POV, colors and freeze frame in this shot, Chris. How about a 200mm lens and that Kimmie wasn't seriously hurt. You never know about head and back injuries.
