"Dedicated to the memory of two fallen towers." ~~~~~
Another infrared photo with my Sony P200. I bought two of them already modified (modded) from fellow member zep addict. He removed the internal cut filter (that blocks most of the IR and UV wavelengths) from both of them, and with this one attached a B+W 92 filter via an external thread mount so I can actually switch filters if I so desire. It allows me to take handheld infrared photos with a false color scheme (as opposed to black and white). With an unmodded camera you are looking at longer exposures (think tripod), sensor noise issues and lens hot spots. My other P200 has the filter internal and it cannot be swapped without disassembling the camera. It has more restrictive filter that blocks all visible light and only allows the infrared to pass. It also has the bonus feature of looking like a normal camera -- stealth IR! Like last time, once I downloaded the photo from the camera, I swapped the red and blue channels in Photoshop to approximate a more normal (I use the term loosely) color scheme. Levels and saturation were adjusted -- this time a bit more as the original file was a littler dark and flat. The photo was resized and sharpened and the frame/sig added. For those of you with sharp eyes, you can see the wrought iron gate from a previous image towards the bottom left (by the fencing). ------

A wonderful tower and it looks great in IR, it has quite a lacy look to it, and the trees set it off nicely.

What a great shot and looks almost like a gothic tower in some medieval European building.. No doubt the archtect was inspired in this setting!

Kort, I always love your IR shots. This one is definitely one of your best. I really like the slight blue color of the tower and the white clouds behind it. And that tower is friggin huge!

I have not been over there since Charley hit back in 2004, the images on their website made my heart sink! I can not imagine how the reflecting pool looks either minus all of the huge oaks that had lined it. It will take many, many years for those oaks to grow back. Looking at this image it appears that the oaks in the front of the tower survived! This looks absolutely dreamy in IR!

I expected to see the Eye Of Sauron at the top of the tower. Great capture!
