My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

I agree with cosine, they do have that, British Museum Egyptian feel to them. A technically correct shot of something that would never see the inside of my house. Unless of course it was worth a million. Auntietk I think you are very brave. lol Thanks for sharing(I think) Bravo!!!!!

Along the lines of Goodoleboy, I also remember the fashions in the 50s. I was young but in 1959 or 1960 I was aching for a poodle skirt like the other girls. My mother vetoed it. I was chubby and she thought I'd look like a Dunkin Donut with feet and arms if I wore one. The 70s... I was glad I wasn't a teenager for long in the 70s... I hated the fabric, I hated the colors, and I hated the disco stuff. I did enjoy the 60s though and always felt as if I was a part of a great movement (no jokes...LOL) in our society that changed the way we all looked at things. And the fashions were great...minis and maxis and crops and baggies and hot pants and bell bottoms... We had it ALL! oh...Stunning abstract. What a great vision you have of things ... :-)

This was well worth opening, just for your narrative! The details you have captured are great, and incidentally, I went back to school one September, to find our classroom had been painted, with two walls avocado and two walls orange! It was a fright!

The 1970s pushed the limits of many social morés; the limits of good taste being foremost among them. Yet, taken out of their original context, many '70s artifacts still seem to retain an intrinsic beauty all their own. Excellent photo and commentary! FIVE STARS

we never cherish what we have. we should be grateful that our subconscious does... thank you for this soft nostalgy and the wonderful capture.
