Description

Mt. Iwaki is 1625 meters or approx 5,331 ft high above sea level. Because of its resemblance to the famous Mt Fuji, it has been given the nickname Tsugaru Fuji. Part of the way up is by car thru a winding road, then by ski lift and last...hike your way. I did not plan to do any hiking on this day nor was I equipped with the proper wear. The clouds were moving in and out making it hard to take a photo at times. I have never been on a ski lift before so...up I went. Aloha and thank you for viewing

amusing story and nice image. the pov is interesting and the "ski"lift anyway...is there really a ski-run? (probably a stupid question)

Not a stupid question as I was wondering the same thing myself. As far as I could see, there was vegetation almost everywhere... Thanks for asking. Aloha

da_franze....There is no ski-run on this side of the mountain. But at a lower elevation level, there is one. Not a stupid question my friend as I was expecting to see a ski area myself when I had reached the top. Thanks for asking. Aloha

I am sure by the time you managed to get to the top, the sight must have been incredable, even though the weather was not to anyone's desire. Thank you for sharing. egmont

This is a long sky lift. Like a way you place that on a side lead us to the top.

A super vanishing point with the lift. Great cropping. Perfect timing with the clouds. It really gives the picture a bigger perception of height. Excellent job again my friend. I would love to be in Japan again. I still have my Mt. Fuji walking stick. :)

Nice POV for sure. The vanishing point of the ski lift helps give scale, I also like how it leads the eye into the wisps of mist.

Great clarity and composition in this shot, Shark! Amazing POV of this awesome junior version of Mt Fujiyama. The ski lift and sky portions of the capture is fascinating all by itself. Can we say, STEEP? Sayonara!
