Description
The secret of the Dark Angels. During the Heresy, a part of there Legion turned tratior, resulting in a massive civil war that cumulated in the destuction of the Dark Angels home world, and the scattering of the traitor Dark Angels known as "The Fallen" throughout space and time. The Dark Angels still persue The Fallen at any given oppurtunity, hunting them without mercy, the black stain on the Dark Angel name causing them to assume the title of "The Unforgiven"
At first glance, these might seem like normal Dark Angels, but look closely and you will notice that the swords have been reversed on the winged sword logo, now pointing up rather then down. This is the result of painstaking research. There is almost no material on The Fallen. However the one model done for them has a wingless reversed sword on one shoulder pad without angel wings.
Thinking in terms of what Marines would have done quickly to distinguish themselves from there loyalist brothers with limited time and resources, this simple mod of the reversed sword is what I choose, however I kept the Angel wings.
The company number is the 15th, one of the two companies I am sure of that turned traitor. During the battle on the Dark Angel's home world, the 15th company fought with exceptional skill and bravery, when they ran out of ammunition, the surviving members of the Company along with members of the 16th (whom had turned to Chaos) charged the loyalists guns, fighting with gun butts and knives, eventually overwhelming the loyalist Dark Angels through sheer tanacity.
After the Heresy, the 15th was sent through time and space to become a Mercenary Company in the 40,000 time frame, others like the 16th company became true Chaos Marines.
The Fallen are said to mantain the same black armor as before the heresy... although I've seen many examples using the post-heresy dark green color. Symbol interperations very as does the history from unit to unit.
