Description

This is Chester Woods Park just east of Rochester, Mn on 08/19/07. Chester Woods Park was build as part of the Rochester, Mn flood control project built in 1992. When we received around 17 inches of rain on 08/18/07 "500 year flood", it proved its worth. Hardly any flooding in Rochester, but several surrounding areas were not so lucky. What you see in this picture is the road to the camp grounds on the other side of the water. Someone we know was camping over there on the 18th, the fire men came over in boats and made them leave everything. They rescued only the people.
