Description

"Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled." ~ The Kybalion

This Hermetic Principle explains many old paradoxes which have perplexed many, having been stated as follows: "Thesis and antithesis are identical in nature, but different in degree", "opposites are the same, differing only in degree", "the pairs of opposites may be reconciled", "extremes meet", "everything is and isn't, at the same time", "all truths are but half truths", "every truth is half-false", "there are two sides to everything", etc... Opposites are really only the two extremes of the same thing, with many varying degrees between them. This is a principal that has really resonated with me during my explorations of philosophy and meditations on existence. Enough of the heavy stuff. ;'] Here are two more photos of Chihuly glass art to close out the week. Again, it is best viewed full size. And no, these are not simply two differently colored versions of the same image. Have a terrific weekend! -----

Beautiful. I saw the Chihuly exhibit at the Missouri Botanical Garden here in St Louis and it was wonderful. Especially at night when there all lit up.

A beautiful pair of Chihuly pieces! His studio turns out very consistent work. Similar but not identical, and the colors are fabulous! I like the blue-green best.

The Yin & Yang of Chihuly ! The glass sculptures look like eyes to me, one for the Ice Queen and the other a Sauron type eye ! Neat capture and manipulation Kort ! ~Cheers~ :o)

Now that you've provided me with another injection of arcane and metaphysical information overload, I'll go on now to give a brief real world critique of the photos displayed above. Beautiful colors, great DOF, and suggests some kind of other dimension spider webs or rope mesh. In a word...magnifico!

Great captures! Something to be considered though by any photographer, is that a picture of someones art is technically theirs. I ran into this directly with one of my friends Denver shots that included a sculpture. (He was contacted directly by the artists attorney) While we as photographers have certain rights, so do artists :) Just a heads up, and yes, fantastic work Kort!

Thank you for the explanation. Although I don’t write English very well, I can read and understand it and I am very interested in this kind of explanations. Nice colors and composition. I love it.

Are you sure that these aren't one in the same just colored different in PS. Are you giving us half truths or are you telling us the whole truth? lol...Interesting presentation Kort.
