Description

My husband and I took a trip down into Detroit where I grew up, and I was shocked at how much of the city was torn down. When I was little, my grandmother's sister, My Great Aunt Carrie, still lived in the family farmhouse on Six Mile and Conant - on a half acre in what was then a built-up, crowded city. I loved to look at pictures from the days when there were still farms there and when the city was far from that house. The house is long gone now, but the dining room looked somewhat like this. Except my Aunt had a picture of poppies in a vase over the buffet. Of course, you must have the lace table cloth or it would not be a dining room! I guess I can't understand why city planners do not try to save historic buildings and instead they like to tear them down. Furniture from Daz. Hair by Aprilish. TY - Rebelmommmy for your beautiful character, available at RDNA! The wonderful dress is dynamic and in freestuff here!

I agree Sherrie. In the biz I am in I see it all the time.Nice in Utah they are restoring a historic warehouse rather than tearing in down.It is a project that is going to take 10 years to do.BEautiful image Sherrie

This is a wonderful scene Sherrie and I agree about the tearing down of the past. We don't preserve our heritage like other cultures do and seem to prefer to turn everything into a parking lot.

Thomas Wolfe was right, "you can't go home again." It never looks the same, the only we have are the memories and good feeling, which we should never lose. Lovely scene and lady.
