This is for Pops, who is a wonderful artist and person and has given me great support and for some strange reason likes my stories. :o) lol
I want to thank all the artists who have commented and fav'd my last render I am honored and they do make me feel so wonderful! Thank you.
If you go walking through the fields, bring your camera, you never know what you will come across. If you are lucky you may see the Strawberry Gatherer. She even may allow one photograph as long as you are very quiet, because the little fairies who help gather the strawberries are very shy and any loud noises will frighten them away and she must get the strawberries in before the first frost.
Selbethy, the Strawberry Gatherer, as she is known, is the master of the strawberry jams, jellies and preserves that adorn the fairy tables deep in winter. No one knows the secret of her success. It has been passed down through the ages and a guarded secret. They say, and this is only rumor mind you, that she takes a little of 'this' and little of 'that' and with a twist of the wrist and sprinkle of fairy dust magic and a quick mix and slow simmering out comes the most delicious strawberry confections you will ever taste, if you are fortunate taste them. :o)
I am told, if you go down the East path and then turn right onto Crooked Lane and follow it to the Giant Oak, you will find three rocks piled on top of each other, lift the top rock and you will find an old piece of beaten bark and a piece of charcoal. Write your name and what you want, but don't be greedy, because you won't get anything. If you are really fortunate and the Fairies feel you are worthy of their preserves, you will wake up one winter morning after the first snow comes and there wrapped in fairy finery (no one wraps gifts better than the fairies of the Forest) an extra large jar of fine strawberry jam or jelly to tickle your winterized taste buds, just waiting to be put on fresh warm bread or an English muffin or scones, dripping with butter as you sit by the fire and drink your tea...or so I've been told. :o)
