This for PJLawson, who has a great sense of humor and sense of creation. He has brightened my day many times with his artwork. I thank him for his undying support of my work and stories (just between you and me...I think he is more off center than I am.) :o) Thank you PJ!
Wow, things are just hopping in the Forest this weekend. But you must keep it a secret. If this news gets out there is no telling what could happen. Apparently, and this is just hearsay, but I do have it on good authority, that Glidora the Gold Maker, well of course there is a gold maker! Where do you think the stuff comes from? You don't believe that story that it is mined from the ground or found in a riverbed. Pshaw! My gosh are you naive, it comes from fairies. They put it there. Yes, they do. I have heard the stories of how much fun it was when they sprinkled gold nuggets up and down the river at John Sutter's Mill in1848. Now that caused quite a ruckus. They finally had to stop so all the people would go home, but that's another story. :o)
Glidora the Gold Maker sits on her chair in her ivy and moss covered cottage and magically makes gold from the silky special moss that grows only on her cottage. Now don't tell me you believe that other story of Rumpelstiltskin and the Miller's daughter! That's just a tale, everyone knows you can't spin gold out of straw!
Glidora has a problem. She has Gold Fever. No...not for the want of gold. The Goldenrod has started to go to seed and this year her allergies are particularly bad. Everytime she sneezes another gold bar appears. I am not kidding...this is what my source tells me...and she never kids around...well hardly ever. Anyway, down in the Glen d'Or where Glidora lives everyone is in a tizzy. There are gold bars all over the floor, gold flakes floating through the air and a fine cloud of gold dust is settling on everything. Glidora's helper mice are working as fast as they can to keep things under control, but it seems they are losing the battle.
Two of the helper mice have run down to the Healing Witch to make a house call and bring stronger medicine, because Glidora can't leave her cottage. You can imagine what would happen if she walked through the Forest sneezing all the way up to the Healing Witch. It's dangerous for Fairies and other living creatures in the Forest. No telling where a bar might fall. It could land on a fairy's foot or konk a chipmunk on the head. Gives me goose bumps to think of it.
You don't have to believe a word I am telling you, but the next time you are walking along a riverbed and you see something shiny and glinting in the sunlight, it just may be one of Glidora's gold nuggets, but then again it could just be fools gold shining up at you, only the Faes know...or so I've been told. :o)

So that's where it comes from...I knew I was looking in the wrong places ! Gold is very heavy, maybe she could recruit some more helper mice from the gym ? or call for Arnie Mousenegger ? Kool Fae scene, characters and detailed textures, well done ! ~Cheers~ :o)

A very super story and picture. I love the idea of sneezing gold bars. I can't have Glidora's gift as my sneezes just result in a lot of germs being spread. Love how you have got the gold to really sparkle. Beautiful work.
