Description

Captured 9/13/07 around 7:20 AM, about 2 miles from my humble abode. Dedicated to my patient friend, auntietk, for taking me by the hand and showing me how to post my photos full size. This is a shot of a sculpture I've posted before that never fails to fascinate me. It is one big and high mother of a creation that sits in the middle of one of the streets at a busy intersection. I have no idea what the object represents. The spikes or rods remind me of an American Indian headdress, darning needles, javelins, tubes for ball point pens, or whatever else long and narrow. I'm confident you have reminders of your own. Incidentally, this sculpture is located in an industrial area, so you can imagine what the truck drivers in their huge semis were thinking when they saw this deranged individual standing, dodging and galloping around in the middle of the street with a camera. And, I was going to post my last dahlia photo today, but after seeing the much less than normal number of folks viewing and commenting on the gorgeous species, I figured the general audience, probably bored and unimpressed by now, was all dahliaed out, that enough is enough, it was fun while it lasted, but now it's time to move on to other things of beauty, such as aircraft, cars and old trains; perhaps even roses. After all, if you haven't noticed by now, it's later than you think. Plus, change is good! And, for the first time, I can say, image better viewed at full size. Thanks for dropping by!

This is great. I'm glad you know how to post these now, although I didn't know you had a problem with it. So we will miss your last dahlia, huh? Why not torture it and put it in the files with the daisies - bring it back from time to time so we can hear it scream? LOL This really is a cool shot!

This is a wonderful image, my dear! I love the way the shape of the sculpture echos the shape of the palm fronds in the background. The first thing I did was click on full view. Very impressive! I'm so glad I could fill in that blank for you. Nicely done! :)
