Description

Bbbrrrrrrr Cold, Mammoths lakes just after Hot Death Valley When we left Death Valley we arrived less than 12 hours later high in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, at Mammoths lakes. It was close to freezing!! Next morning a beautiful day and hike in the area with all the lakes, including Lake Mary the subject of my today’s posting. Too cold for snakes, but we haven’t seen any snakes or similar “nasty” animals in the desert area!! We have been told that a week ago there was still ice on the lakes (it was end of May) but around the lakes there was still snow!! From steaming dry hot in to close to freezing was an interesting experience, but our RV was nicely warm, and the fire for the BBQ was very pleasant!! Thanks for passing by Have a nice day, Henk.

Now your in my neck of the woods! We just had our first snow fall last week, but very little and with the colder temperatures..... I'm thinking a trip to Death Valley is going to be the place to be .... in about another month..... the reports say it was 103F a couple days ago.... only half that in Mammoth today! Great shot with Crystal Crag in the background!
