Bbbrrrrrrr Cold, Lake George at Mammoths lakes
When we left Death Valley we arrived less than 12 hours later high in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, at Mammoths lakes.
It was close to freezing!!
Next morning a beautiful day and we did 2 hike in the area with all the lakes, first Lake Mary ( see my yesterdays posting) followed by Lake George the subject of my today’s posting.
I can assure you both Mary and George are beautiful, we noticed trails of wildlife, but no bear encounters!!
We have been told that a week ago there was still ice on the lakes (it was end of May) but around the lakes there was still snow!! Around Lake George there was a lot more snow!!
From steaming dry hot in to close to freezing was an interesting experience, but our RV was nicely warm, and the fire for the BBQ was very pleasant!!

Beautiful shot, Henk, but it certainly does look cold. I notice no one is out on the lake in those rowboats. I'll bet the water was very cold.
