Description

A principal character from a Hawkmoon campaign, a variant of the RPG Stormbringer, set in the “Tragic Millennium Earth” of Michael Moorcock’s novels. “Syn cradled Nykira head upon his knee, brushing her brassy hair from her face. Then he slowly rose, letting her body slump to the cold ground. His companion, and lover, since being cast unto this hellishly lawful plane, she had followed him across the length and breadth of the world she knew, and beyond… but he would shed no tear for her. Surveying the carnage about him, he recognized Jon’s body a few yards away. The young Kampp-dweller had been so egger to see the wonders of this world. He would see nothing more. Syn stopped over Kael’s body. He had warned the Granbretan that if he continued to pursue him it would be his death, but the relentless “Deathstalker” had dogged him too far, and paid the price. With no regard for his fallen foe, Syn braced his foot on Kael’s breastplate and draw his demonic greatsword from his chest like a sheath of flesh and bone. The bitter wind of the Muskovian steppes moaned the only morning they would receive, as the Dragon Lord turned westward… alone.” A self-exiled renegade, disgusted with the decadence and apathy that left his race in drug induced dreams of lost glories, Syn is a throw back to ancient times when the Dragon Lords of Melnibone ruled the world from the backs of dragons. Cruel, amoral and without humanity, his race was born to sorcery and sworn to Chaos. Cast onto the Tragic Millennium Earth by a sorcerous trap laid by his Madben nemesis Dregolath Xorn, Syn escaped Granbretan, but was pursued by the relentless Kael and his “Deathstalkers”, Skull-order warriors tasked with capturing those who escape the Dark Empire’s “justice”, while he searched for a way to return to the Young Kingdoms. Abandoning his quest, after it took him the length and breadth of Europe and beyond, and cost several lives, Syn and his remaining companions faced Kael and the “Deathstalkers” in a climatic battle on the eastern steppes of Muskovia that left him the sole survivor. Wandering westward, with no direction or purpose, Syn soon found himself joined by a Muskovian mercenary, Narmir, and Victoria of Wight, a Granbretan noblewoman who rejected her countrymen’s madness and turned outcast. More of an update then a revist this time... In true Melnibonean style, Syn has out lived all his companions (the other Player Characters) in our campaign, and has started to gather a new goup. Unlike Dungeons & Dragons, Hawkmoon and Stormbringer have no means to revive dead characters, and even powerful characters can die with surprising ease! I wanted to try redoing Syn using David rather then Michael this time, but I used the same setting and pose for comparison. Thanks for looking... Hope you enjoy! Comments and suggestions always welcome and appriciated! Frankly...I preferd the fisrt render of him. Yes most of it because he was so cute. But you know, I found this one to be looking less dangerous, like a little elf with a big flashy sword. The other one had the little grin on his face.the one kind that you have when you are saccarstic a bit...the eyes where eyes that so to damn much!....No sorry, for me this one is to soft.
