A principal character from a Hawkmoon campaign, a variant of the RPG Stormbringer, set in the “Tragic Millennium Earth” of Michael Moorcock’s novels. “Syn reined his steed to a halt and turned toward the Muskovian mercenary. “You would do better to seek your fortune along a separate road then mine,” he said solemnly. “Those who choose to call me friend are often not long for this world.” “I have noticed that those who choose to call you enemy are NEVER long for this world,” Narmir laughed in reply. “Death is always our companion, regardless of what road we choose… So I choose the road of greatest fortune!” Syn regarded him with a measuring look for a moment, then turned his horse westward again, a sly smirk growing on his lips as he spurred the beast into motion. “So be it!” he called back to Narmir, who spurred his own horse to a gallop to keep pace with the Dragon Lord. “But be warned,” Syn announced with touch of humor, “some fortunes come at a great price!”” A warrior forged on the bitter steppes of eastern Muskovia, Narmir’s entire life has been a battle for survival in a land where the strong live, and the weak are forgotten. Raised with the ancient traditions of honor and valor that have let his people thrive in such a hostel place, his word is a sacred oath to be defended with his dieing breath. He encountered Daeron Syn on his journey back form Asia Communista, when he wadded fearlessly into a pitched battle against Dark Empire forces, saving Narmir’s life and turning the tide with his sorcery. Recognizing the opportunities that Syn presents, he chose to bind his fortunes to the Dragon Lord’s, despite knowing the fate of those who had done so before him. Although more accepting then most, especially when a beautiful woman is involved, Narmir still does not fully trust Syn’s other companion, Victoria of Wight, a Granbretan noblewoman and scientist who rejected her countrymen’s madness and turned outcast… or so she claims.
