A creepy render. What is that skeleton with glowing eyes doing there? Hmmm. Inigmatic.

Nice work looks like the class was very helpful.

Peej: Well.... Hal lived a creepy, enigmatic life - LOL. Tammy: It was a terrific class. I did "Guilin Again" before knowing much of anything about Bryce, and this piece as part of the 3rd week's assignment. Thanks to both of you for taking the time to look and comment on this newbie's work.

Thanks ronknights ;-) Thanks for stopping by, sakke13. Is there anything you could tell me that would help me improve the lighting? It's because I'm still very much a beginner that I posted in this gallery, and I certainly would welcome constructive citicism. Yes, I used others' models, except for the walls, floor, ceiling, windows, and table. All of these, as well as the basic image, I made during the third week of a beginner's class. The only change I made after the class ended last month was to add the rug and chair.

Sorry Sipapu! I didn't know this beginner gallery thing and I judged your work too radically. I am very new to Renderosity and I shouldn't have been written any comments and ratings before knowing this system :( I will remove my first rating since it is not fair. So, here comes more comments: I don't know Bryce, I have never used it, but I think you can achieve more moody lightning with it. Now this image has too weak shadows and I would like to see that image with strong and long shadows! :) Try to make some candles (1 or 2 or maybe 3) on the table and make them cast shadows. The main light should maybe be little darker so the image won't seem as light as it is now. I think image will become more moody if it was darker and had those candles. I didn't have time to search for picture where you can see the lighting I am now talking about, but I will continue searching and I will drop you a message if I find some good examples. Texturing is good. The carpet on the floor is maybe bit too bright - or is it just lighting which makes it look like 2D. This was one of the biggest things that catched my attention when I saw that pic. Because table isn't casting any shadows to carpet, it look little flat. This will be better if you try candles on the table. And if you can modify the texture of carpet, like add some dirt spots etc. it will look very nice! You could also try some different camera positions. What do you think if camera was lower? Like you are lying on floor and looking room from there? Try different camera setting too! It is fun and right camera position gives much more depth to picture (It is not bad now, but you can still try some different positions.) So this is nice image, but if you tweak some little things, this could become almost perfect beginner picture!

Oh, sakke13, you are very gracious. And very kind to take the time to give me such a detailed and useful critique and great suggestions. I will work on this picture some more with all these ideas in mind. Thank you so much!
