Description

Ok...so it's a weird title...I was in a weird mood. But it's more of a puzzle of a title, so there might be something in it for the first person to figure out just a tiny piece of how my brain works. LOL :D It's another shot from our trip to Beale AFB, and the best shot I've got of this craft as well. I wish they'd rolled the planes further out of the hanger, but oh well...it was still quite cool just getting to see them. I was slightly disappointed though that both the t-shirt and patch we got from the Expo had the SR-71 on it and yet it's not a plane that flies out of Beale any more so we didn't get to see one. Maybe some day somewhere else. Hope you had a great Monday and thanks for the coments. :) John

A U-2R Dragon Lady - nice picture! Good to get shot of her before she gets replaced by the Global Hawk you showed us yesterday.

I am guessing the title has something to do with Aircraft noise emissions or... perhaps rattlesnakes hissing on a plane... Wasnt there some terrible movie about that? Military Aircraft are very interesting subjects- hope you have a lot more to post- too bad about the SR-71 though- thats one sleek, mean machine!

There's a Blackbird here in Seattle at the Museum Of Flight, if you ever get out this way. The U2 os still flying, albeit as a NASA hight altitude research aircraft. Now here's a name from the past, Gary Francis Powers, RIP. Survived a shootdown over Russia, and dies doing traffic reports. Ain't no Justice.

I always preferred the TR-1A designation. This should be a U-2S(?). I was at Beale (I live in American Canyon) for the last open house featuring the SR-71 . . . several years ago . . . and they did a Mach 3 flyby at 50k ft. Awesome.
