Kool chrome FX and textures, but 80 hours to render ? get a copy of Lightwave and you can get exact same effect in a matter of minutes !!! the only thing that slows it down is double sided glass and still only a few hours to render. Fine scene and character Glen ! ~Cheers~ :o)

Chrome only responds to light reflected from something else. It does not respond directly to light. This is in 3D apps where anything not immediately lit by a light ray is black. With chromes basic color set to black so it does not discolor reflections it is black in a black room even with a spotlight shining directly at it. Whatever you do don't make a telescope tube.

I wouldn't be happy with it either; ecstatic, maybe, but not happy.

Fantastic image!

Beautiful imagery, but 80 hours of rendering??????? Eeeeek! That's one thing I like about Carrara...it renders so fast. (Now if I can just figure out how to use it for what I bought it for I'll be all set, LOL!)

Very nice, I can't get anything good out of Carrara yet. I can't believe a render of 80 hours, my longest was about 36 hours in Poser. Awesome work. ^_^

80 hrs, I wish I could get mine down that low :,) Although I can see why it's taken so long, all those shiney bits, I've got to ask though, why aren't there any shadows, just wondering, anycase cool looking scene Glen.
akulla

cool image!! =)

Blurred reflections and reflections on bumped materials? Is that that yielded such a long render-time? Some other AR settings on? And yet a nice picture!!!

Amazing image! Excellent work. :-)

80 hrs is WAY too long. It's pretty good, but not up to your usual level. WIth stuff like that, I use mapped reflections instead of ray-traced reflections. It's loads quicker. LOL ^__^V,,
