Description

This is another very cliché shot, but I've done my best to try and make it work. Again, I messed with the colors. I made it more contrasty, then duplicated the layer, made the top layer green-toned, and cleared away some of it with a soft-edged brush so that most of the foreground is only slightly green-hued but the background is totally green. Well, grayish-green. Let me pose a question to you: is that too much? I happen to think that if all you do is mess with the colors and contrast, or add a texture to make it look like an old photo or something, it's still basically just a photo. But lately I have been wondering where you draw the line between "photography" and "photomanipulation". I guess we all just have to figure it out for ourselves, within certain guidelines. If I had, for example, photoshopped a picture of the Mars rover onto the shot, it'd have to go in a different gallery. Wait, I've rambled again. Fuck it, don't listen to me. Go do your damn homework. (thanks for your comments on "king III" I can't believe so many of you showed up)

I think you have made this work as the moss really stands out against the blurred background. Yes it is hard to know when it is a manipulation or just an adjustment. Excellent work.

This works well as a photo and doesn't need to be in the "manipulation" category. There is a very artistic quality to this particular shot!
