Description

The Church of our lady of Monte. The church of Nossa Senhora do Monte, was rebuilt after the earthquake of December 1818 and consecrated to the original patron saint, who's veneration dates back to the 15th century. 21st July 1804 Our Lady of Monte became the patron saint of the Funchal diocese. Unfortunately weather conditions didn't do my photography any favours this day. you could say our heads were in the clouds. and although this church is unusual and beautful, I have opted to show you a couple of pieces of Art inside the building. The pomp of the Catholic church is always rich with story and glory. This is a lovely double shot of saintly art. Lovely.

Wonderful art Alan, I wonder why they are so high up the wall, is it to stop people from touching them? Great pictures of them! The paintings I like but I don't care much for the frames. I hope you haven't held the tour bus up whilst you take photographs, like you do here making Sylvia wait and extending the walk.lol Both of these are excellent! Bravo!!!!!
