Description
Hagar: I lost a friend this year to an IED, SSG Joshua Hager. Like me, he was an Army Ranger, so I named this character after him and hopefully that will inspire me to finish the story. Rangers today aren't much different besides technology. Proficient in all weapons, deadly from afar and just as deadly in your face. We can track, we know how to survive without food or sleep, we know how to trap and hunt. We are silent and fearless but we are also fathers, sons, husbands and brothers. We are not bullet-proof and our hearts can be broken.
So here is image 2 of this texture set. I really wish I had rendered the boots and Celtic Pants but alas another time.
The "Earth" Texture is a combination of brown leather and chainmail. I am contemplating doing displacement maps for the chainmail like I did for other parts (Ah the boots, the boots look cool, alas, you can't see them here....another time) but this is just more or less character development. I roughed up the leather slightly to imply more wear and tear than hand to hand damage.
The Cloak is intended to be Elven crafted using sinew from the Black Dragon he slayed to get the swords. The woven sinew is more or less like Medieval Kevlar protective against any projectiles and piercing but prone to slashing. The sinew material also varies with the weather. It can go from stiff to pliable so is only used for cloaks so that it can be easily removed and stowed if it becomes unmanageable.
The sword straps and sheath are crafted from the softer skin of the Dragons armpits (ya sounds funny but where else would a dragon have soft skin?) The sheaths and sword handles are made from more pliable scales of the tail and ankles where the scales tend to be smaller.
