Description

This little treasure is my Amy's sister at the tender age of 6 weeks! She has the sweetest of nature's just like her sister, and is just a bundle of purry love. Notice the eyes haven't changed colour yet, but they should turn into a hazel tone or green when she grows up. Although it is very difficult to recreate the true colour of the eyes of a cat onto photo and perhaps the explanation is below: Did you know? Eye colours in cats are determined based on the amounts of brown-black and yellow-red pigments in the eye. The rainbow of the eye colours spans blue, green and copper, including all the the various shades of these three colours. Many cats have eyes that appear blue and/or green, though there are no such pigments in the feline eye. These colours appear as 'optical illusions' known as the Tyndall Phenomenon that involves light waves. To create blue eyes, the dark pigment in the eyes absorbs the light rays and the effects is blue. Green eyes are created by light passing through yellow pigment, allowing blue rays to be refleceted, the combination of colours creates the illusion of green. Copper eyes in cats are more straightforward and are created by brown pigments modified by yellow or black, thus creating hazel, copper, orange and various shades of these darker colours.
