Description

Hello All!! This was taken in/on lake Michagan this summer before a big thunderstorm came in . Christina was staring at the far off lighting to the south ( still about 10 miles away ) ,mesmerised by it here -!. We had just had a lakeside picnic ( these amazing green olive burgers that are popular in that region there ) and after, Chrissy wanted to go for a swim . The clouds rolled in and started to look angry. In this shot I had run down to get Chrissy out of the water as the fist signs of lighting started far off .( The weather had changed in minutes) and quickly snapped this before I called to her. Midwest weather is so unusual to me -One minute its a beautiful summers evening then 20 minutes later crazy stormy front moves in ) ~! THat night we had a huge thunder and lighting storm and trees fell over - we lost the power and had to light candles. This was a bit grainy so did a little of my postwork to soften it in paintshop. I liked the mood here so thought I would share it !! Thanks for all your time and comments! Love to all!! ((( big hugs ))) ~ Kimmers ! :O) ! ♥

It's an excellent image. Glad you yanked her out of the water before the light show got too close :)

Yes, it would be wise to get out of the water fast as you are the highest point in the water. Beautiful capture of Chrissy in stormy waters and glad she is safe from harm. Aloha

Wow... she even looks like she is shivering from the cold and the stormy skies. My first thought was to get out of the water! lol Nice work, Kimmy.

Apparently the storm was announced seriously. I like much the effect of washing of the sky of ' soir' of summer, with these bands of different colors. Your child seeming alone in the medium of the sea, reinforces dramatic the one evening aspect of storm of summer!!!

Fantabulous composition here, Kims, of Chrissy silhouetted against the beautifully textured ocean, and the chocolate colored clouds all set to release their fury on the earth's surface below. With all that lightning flashing about, it was vital to get Christina out of the water, post haste.
