Description
the african fish eagle is known as the voice of africa, because they have a very loud voice. they have a wingspan of 2 metres and the males are somewhat smaller than the females. they mate for life and often maintain to nests during the breeding season which in africa is the dry season. they lay up to 3 eggs in the nest and the chicks fledge or leave the nest after 75 days, the nests are recycled every year and can become as wide as 6 feet across. this one was shot in eagle heights bird sanctury in eynford kent.
