Description
stretch is my royal python who is 4 feet in length. as you can see he is eating a mouse, mice are his staple diet and he eats 2 mice a week. he is originally from africa and is the smallest of the african pythons. he is also known as the ball python as when threatened he will curl up in a ball but i think royal python is the better name for him. he is found over most of the african countries and reputedly worn round cleopatra's waist. they have a life span of 20 - 40 years and stretch is around 16 years old.

Excellent macro shot, but it does make me feel a bit wobbly Having said that I was very interested in your information on this creature, and hadn't realized that they can live up to 40 years of age!!

How fabulous this shot is. I love seeing the scent glands so well and the feeding is a wonderful act to capture. I had rattlesnakes and a corn snake and tried many times to get a shot like this but never was able to. They ate very low to the ground and very quickly... Fabulous shot.
