There have been five Walton Bridges so far.

The First Bridge 1750 to 1783 Wooden lattice 3 arch structure on stone piers
Ferry
The Second Bridge 1788 to 1859 Brick and stone arch structure
Ferry
The Third Bridge 1864 to 1985 Lattice girder on brick and stone piers
The Fourth Bridge 1953 to date The old 'Callender - Hamilton' structure, which is still used by pedestrians and cyclists
The Fifth Bridge 1999 to date The current bridge that is carrying vehicles
