Description
this is my pet ferret pepper, she is now saddly deceased but was a gorgeous happy little thing. she is what is known as a black-eyed white which is to say she is not an albino (white with red eyes)this colour is very rare. she ate a diet consisting of a biscuit called ferret complete, which caters for all her nutritional needs. ferrets are mainly nocturnal and sleep 23 hours a day, and when pregnant they carry their babies for 6 weeks. when born baby ferrets are less than an inch long and grow extremely fast eating a solid food diet mixed with mothers milk by 3 weeks of age. pepper was a wonderful mother and had 10 healthy babies. ferrets can have litters as large as 16 but as small as 4 but 8 is average, and female ferrets will die if not either bred each year or put to a vasectomised hob (male) or given a hormone injection or even spayed.

I am so sorry that your beloved Pepper is no longer with you, but it is lovely that you have happy memories of her! I used to be a veterinary nurse and got to know a few ferrets from around our area quite well when they came to surgery. They really are lovely creatures, and thanks so much for all the info. Pepper was a beautiful girl!!!

Sorry for your loss, Pepper was a cute one for sure. Great shot of pepper, I never have much luck getting decent shots of my 4 guys.

We had a totol of 6 thru out the years. They lived long healthy lives.This is a really pretty one. Sorry for the loss . I know they are really easy to get attached to

Sorry for your loss, but Pepper is in plenty of good... and questionable... company. This is a very good portrait shot. Most of my shots are... well... asleep or othewise ... ah, 'occupied' in a corner. Hard to keep them in focus. Again, condolences.
