Description

Another try at a curvy road. Terrain work etc. is all based on a large (3500x5500) image-map prepared in CorelDraw (to control the curves and lines) and then finished in Photoshop (a lot of painting). Most of the vegetation is with modified Vue VEG-plants. Vue 5 Infinite render, GA with volumetric atmosphere. Thanks for taking a look, comments etc. always welcome and appreciated. Have a fine day - Lars

Great job Lars...only issue I see is the leaves on the road a out of scale (too large) but a minor point. Wonderful lighting.

Thanks for your comments so far. I agree with "kenwas" on the leaves on the road, it's so annoying to realize that when the render is completed. It happens because it is extremely difficult to estimate the scaling when you paint the leaves on the HUGE image map texture (as I did here). Too small, too large - really you can only tell when the render is completed in a fairly high quality in the actual scene. Well, if it's not OK, then - back to the drawing board in Photoshop and start from scratch :) Of course, the leaves could be added as ecosystems, I didn't in this one, because I wanted to control the distribution/appearance as much as I could. Anyway, thanks again.

Hmm... well, like you already know about the leaves and scale, so I won't bother much on repeting that, but would suggest, that is it your full intent to have to have a road instead of a bike path or something else? Cuz to me, it's not so much the scale of the leaves as the scale of the road itself, as it is too small compatred to the whole surrounding scene, meaning look at the leaves on the trees and the ferns and other such things, they would all need to be scaled down too to match the scale of the road, so it feels more like the roads width is more of the problem there. And since you obviously can't really fit a larger scale road in that scene and still keep things nice and clean and as beutifull as it is right now, a bike path or even just a cobble stone road that doesn't have the white lines that tend to make the scale stand out more, might be a better choice for this scene? Either way, I wouldn't want to be you right now LOL That looks like a lot of work no matter how you do things. Now, if you were using Vue6 you could get away with a LOT more of control, but it looks like you aren't, so the mapping method may be the only real choice. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your next version of this :) ...........md :)

Fantastic - something to wish to drive through. Very cool ight too btw, a just perfect image. Beside the maybe just a bit too clean road. Normally on places like that there is dirt and a dead whatever on the road.

Lovely image. The lighting and vegetation and perfect and I admire your ambition in trying for something different and difficult with the road.
