Description
Taken at Cherry Springs. This is a real difficult target to image, it is very very very dim.
This is what is called a Reflection Nebula, the bright star in the middle of the molecular cloud is simply reflecting light back at us here on earth. The star is not causing the cloud to glow like in my last post.
The full designation of this object is NGC7023 or Caldwell 4.
Taken with an Orion Starshoot CCD camera on an Orion 8" Newtonian telescope on a Celestron ASGT mount guided with a QGuide camera on an Orion ST80 scope piggybacked on the big 8".
Clear skies to all, and thanks for your comments and your interest in my hobby.
