Description
Egil Skallagrimsson grew to be an old man. In old age his movements
became heavy and his sight and hearing began to fail him badly. By
autumn, Egil was totally blind and fell sick and died from that illness.
Egil's grandson Grim had him dressed in fine clothes and carried down to
Tjaldness, where he built a mound and laid Egil inside it with his clothes
and weapons.
Thus ended the saga of Egil Skallagrimsson: killer, drunkard, poet, lawyer
and farmer.
