A recurring character from a Hawkmoon campaign, a variant of the RPG Stormbringer, set in the “Tragic Millennium Earth” of Michael Moorcock’s novels. “Gar heard the rustle of silk as she entered his chamber. “I grow tiered of waiting,” he growled. “Even your ‘service’ will not stay my hand forever!” “Your wait is over, my lord,” Onna replied. He spun to face her, but the hope that shown in his eyes faded… held before her, like some great prize, was the right gauntlet from his armor. “You dare to mock me!” he raged, storming forward. “No, my lord!” she pleaded as she fell to her knees before him, holding up the gauntlet as her salvation from his wraith. “Just put it on and your arm will be restored!” Gar stopped before her, snatched the gauntlet and forcing it unto his dead hand. For an instant there was nothing, and his rage flamed as he raised his good hand to smite her. Then the crystal she had embedded in the gauntlet flared to life, and lightning shot through his right arm. After so long feeling nothing, even the pain was welcome, but it lasted only an instant. Then he raised his right hand bore his eyes. “My arm lives again!” he announced in triumph. “Yes, my lord,” Onna rose from her knees to face him. “But only as long as you wear the glove… and you will find it has the strength of many men!”” A Carpathian Baron, renowned for his brutality and prowess in battle, Vladimir Dragar became the bitter and merciless “Gar the Dracian” when he lost the use of his right arm fighting the forces of the Dark Empire. Determined to become “whole” again, he sought out ever scientist, scholar and sorcerer he could find, promising them anything to restore his arm. But all who tried failed, and faced his wraith. Finally Onna, a mysterious woman from Asia Communista, answered his call, and swore to serve him until she healed him. Eventually, she created a glove that restores the use of his arm, but only as long as he wears it. Keeping his oath to give Onna anything she desires, Gar began a reign of terror nearly as brutal as Granbretan’s conquest, sacking neighboring baronies to seize resources… and people, to further her “research”.
