Description

I caught these guys starting a new nest, with a lot of eggs, of different stages, and a handful of Princess Ants(the ones with white wings), who would be future queens. This was a really neat experience for me, as I've never seen this kind of thing before. I had to move the rock, because they had started the new colony behind my car... and they found the new spot (where I put the rock) really quickly. And they carried their eggs straight to it. This was shot in late July, or early August. I think I have another shot of them in the gallery that I posted earlier, but in case you missed them... here they are again. Thank you for looking. Fantastic capture of a moment that few people actually witness! Ant migrations are cool, and extremely orderly...and fast! I love the details you caught here, and well...I love ants in general. Great work!
