Description

On Wednesday, I went back up Mauna Kea to complete a hike on the Humuula trail which I had failed before. At that time, I ran "Out of Water" and had to turn back. In that post, I had said..."I'll be back another day." This time, I brought more than enough water to complete the hike. Seems like many who passed this rock painted their names on it and around it. As for me, I left some money behind that big rock, a gift for the spirits. The clouds and wind had move in and the trail continues beyond the rock. The larger rocks will absorb a lot of heat from the sunrays.....providing enough warmth for my hands when needed. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

Wow, Errol, Mauna Kea, that's an awesome hike!!! I remember seeing the snow on top of it when I flew into Kona, when everyone else was looking at Maui. The spirits will be pleased!!

So interesting to go on this hike with you. I feel like I am there too. I had very little idea about your landscape before your posts and it's great to learn as well as enjoy your photos.

"I'll be back" is the famous term uttered by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie, THE TERMINATOR (1984). Great POV, clarity and textures, but unfortunate lack of shadows in this capture. Very good otherwise!

lol@goodoleboy. Sometimes the shadows can be a problem.. I like the over cast days best minimizing the shadow problems. Some of my best shots are in the early morning I think. My opinion anyway... Aloha

My knees are very sympathetic, my friend. I'm glad you made it all the way this time, and you know you can't have too much water.

Happily I have a little time to return back to your gallery to see what I didnt get time to watch at before!
A cool gesture to let a little bit to the spirits of the place, you know that I'm sensible to that!
And a fantastic shot of this place!

great expression in this shot! and the imagination of spirits fits to the moody fog behind! oh oh, no water! know that situation! remember a very very steep hike in switzerland, could not carry more water with me and at halfe the way all my bit water was gone! but I could not turn back, it was to far, so I talked loud to myself the whole way further up: " must die, I cannot go on, I must die.....and this again and again! lol but I made it alife and on top the mountain I hold feet into icy water to kill a bit of the thirst! ;o)
