Description

The German city of Dortmund isn't historically known for its greenery. There was a time when the place was dominated by steel mills and coal mines. There was a time when everything was a sort of dingy, sooty gray...according to things that friends here told me. Indeed, Dortmund has been shaped by it's high-carbon-emission past and it retains a somewhat steel mill town quality, but in the midst of it all is a garden park--not far from a tv tower (without babies crawling up it) and you can see unexpected splashes of lush, blooming vegetation. This is one of the first pictures that I took here...back when it was warm! I hope you enjoy it and as always, thank you for viewing and commenting on this and previous works!

An amazing capture of colour, clarity, and even reflection, I love it!!! Last time I was in Dortmund I was at the World Dog show, and have to say I won rather well :o)) happy memories ... Thank you for bringing back some momories for me in this beautiful composition!!!

This is a wonderful shot! Kinda moody with the lighting, works really well. The reflection of the trees in the water is very beautiful. Good work!

You are spot-on with Dormund's past. It used to be a place hardly worth visiting. There was a commuter rail connection to Düsseldorf, my hometown, but I think I only went there once. It might have been a school outing, if I have that correctly, there is a zoo in Dortmund. The image is gorgous, rich in color and contrast and perfectly sharp, edge to edge. Even more lovely when viewed zoomed-in.
