Description

Nikon 7900 image. I liked the image I posted yesterday but I was surprised at the positive reaction of others. As a result, I have decided to post an 2nd image of this colorful beetle species. This time I am showing the pattern on the back. It also is a shot of one on my fingers so the scale of the beetle is demonstrated. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

I can see those well patterned wings. I suppose that's what they function as. The contrast of black and brilliant yellow is great. What a very interesting bug. And that's also a really good shot of your fingers. :-)

Super! Is the colouring a warning or a disguise? I suspect the former!

I thought from the original post that he was much larger than this. Certainly a bright little critter, I was imagining that it may be a tad painful to hold, looking at the spikes sticking out of most of the joints. Thanks for posting this one Lee, it does give a better pespective seeing it on you fingers. Excellent macro. Bravo!!!!!

Smaller than I thought he was. Which means your other image was really well done. Very cool bug, thanks for sharing.
