Description

The books of travelers- adventurers of the 19th tell about great pride and pleasure, exotic stories about GRASSHOPPERS sellers in Hight Burma Seems trés chic! ! From the first days I see many in the heart of Rangoon! This is my preferred, I love this kid, it is really charming and funny Before and during the photos we have talked a lot (Marcel Marceau langage) I wanted to give him something as a souvenir, but my pens and other gadgets were finished and I wanted to give him the money, but not to seems in exchange for the photos I hate this! So I invented a story a little complicated to be explained by signs But I don’t have choice! I need try! It's something like this: Me buy your grasshoppers, two packages, but Me not take grasshoppers, me offer to you, a gift for you! No way to make he understand Probably because the situation had no sense What kind of customer buys two packages of fresh and beautiful grasshoppers and not want to take them? "You pay, it's up to you!" "No, I pay, but this is my gift to you!" Then he showed me how to eat grasshoppers, put many in his mouth, making big gestures to show that they were delicious, make noises for me to see they were crisp And I had to take my grasshoppers, already paid My Buddha, this time it complicates! He and I seems two crazy people making big and theatral gestures on the street It was the Commedia del Art, or most The Grand Guignol ( Puppets Theater) in Rangoon! At the end, I was able to leave without the two packages of grasshoppers that I bought But I am not sure my friend understood my crazy story I think he find the customer very nice, friendly, but a little bit crazy!

This is a fantastic capture and I absolutely LOVE the story that goes along with it. As for grasshoppers, if they are cooked correctly, they taste almost like somewhat sweet peanuts. I won't tell you how or why I know that!

I think I will do the same as you Mousson, if the cans are what he uses to measure the amount, I use the egg cup, much smaller measure. Excellent narrative, but you do not mention whether they are cooked or raw. I will still leave them though. Thank you for sharing. Bravo!!!!!

Interesting story with these grasshoppers. I doubt very much that I could eat it but I guess its a matter of culture and survival. Excellent job. Aloha
