Description

(See Deer Dance 1 for what's going on here.) These are the next two stances the deer I came across took. They were done in a staccato manner, almost like military drill moves. From what I'm told, this behavior is a warning and a threat of aggression which can be attested to bucks, but I see no antlers - not even "buttons". However, I suppose it could be a particularly aggressive doe; I've run across a few of those in human society. :^) Tomorrow I'll post the last of these. I only wish all of you could have experienced this. Those of you who have know the beauty and thrill of witnessing such a display first hand. Thanks for Looking! Ken

Gorgeous. Breathtaking. Stunning. And as for the over-aggressive doe, perhaps she was hiding a young one in the grass and when her threat didn't work, she decided to see if she could lead you elsewhere. A beautiful series of shots, Kenny! A very tasty shot.

This reminds me of the commercial, where the guy walks up to the deer and it stands on its hind legs and attacks him (like a kangaroo). These guys are definitely aggressive at times. How far away were you from it? A safe distance I hope.

Wow! These take my breath away and remind me of a scene one misty morning in central spain where a doe trotted by a medieval castle right in front of me. These are super shots which clearly show how she moves. Did she then charge you? ha, ha.
