Juste un moine qui se promène seul au temple de Schewdagon, a Rangoon Par la couleur de robe il est Theravada, mais pas birman ( eux portent robes rouge foncé), problablement thailandais Les gens ne comprennent pas pourquoi je passe des jours entiers à Schewdagoon Surtout que personne ne parierait un kopek sur ma religiosité ( moi non plus, d´ailleurs) Shewedagon est un endroit imense, trés agréable, merveilleusement beau, avec une atmosphère paisible Après quelques tours, on se met à l´ombre, avec l´équipement photo à coté, on discute avec les gens et, sutout, on regarde On regarde passer toute la Birmanie et une partie du monde Il suffit de garder l´oeilet , cadrer et viser tranquilement C´est une des façons le moins extressantes que je connais de passer ses journées ! I am in no way religious. But I totally agree with you that slow, calm and contemplative attitudes and way of life are the way to make the best of your days. Great photo.

I agree that Shwedagon (and not Schewdagon as you write) , in Rangoon is a very quite and peaceful place…You will find that same feeling of Harmony in all the main Theravada places … if you are coming back to Europe, don’t miss to visit Sarnath, Bodhgaya, and all the Buddhist holy places in India.. A curiosity that you may know... Do you know that in the outskirt of Bombay it has been erected the “Global pagoda” a copy of the Shwedagon Pagoda with the largest dome in stone ever constructed?? Few years ago I was working at the communication of the project and making all the rendering of the “Global Pagoda”. Have a nice journey!
