So after nearly a month of debating I decided that I would indeed post the novel that I am writing for
NaNoWriMo here.
Unfortunately the novel is third in a trilogy. So I know that it's already going to be more difficuilt to follow than Vampire Hunter chronicles.
With that in mind, here is an extremely brief recap of the first two books. Unedited pdf's are also available on my website for those of you who want to read the complete stories. Please note that there are content advisories on the first part in particular.

I don't honestly know if I'll be able to do a render a day like I did with VHC. I'd like to try, but I don't think that this particular story is as suited to the format. So look for a generic image for the story if you're planning to follow along.
Dark System
In the year 2491 Humans successfully achieved interstellar travel. By 2658 they had found and started to colonize the inhabitable planets of the Meridia System. Little did they know that the previous inhabitants had left for a reason.
Book 1: Hallan
An eight member team is dispatched to the beaches of Hallan to discover the cause of hundreds of disappearances the year earlier. It is the one year anniversary of the disappearances, and the team is investigating the last beach. As they are preparing to leave, the missing suddenly reappear.
What nobody knows is that those who returned are not those who disappeared. The souls of the missing are dead, and the inhabitants of the bodies have their own agenda.
As death and fear spread across the planet the members of the original team who have not been taken over themselves are forced to try and learn the truth behind the returned people, and thwart their plans to eventually enslave the souls of every person on Hallan.
Book 2: Elios
While elation and then fear spread across Hallan, the citizens of Elios are blissfully unaware of the danger.
Sharon is accepted as an intern into the Planetary Wildlife Survey. Her job, to catalogue the various species on the newly colonized planet. But one of her first assignments is instead to determine the strange cause of death of hundreds of animals in the forests of Elios.
As the animal deaths continue, and spread, Sharon learns that the deaths are actually caused by beings which drain the life force from the creatures. Dubbed Soulstealers, the creatures spread from the forests.
The citizens of Elios are forced to flee as a sudden explosion of the numbers of soulstealers erupt across the planet.
