Description
This is my first attempt at sub-division modeling. It has been rigged with bones so that it can be posed. The materials are not very good as the body became so complex that when I tried to use the UVW Unwrap it would have taken far too long to sort out, so in the end I took the lazy way out and just wrapped the whole thing in a single texture. But still, it was a good learning experience and has now taught me to be a lot more careful when doing the modeling to think about how it will be textured.

Very nice modelling. I dread that UVM mapping bit too, and unfortunately I tend to model with it in mind.

sod me sideways:) that looks real:) great work:)

First off, really nice model. Very nice sense of proportions. I think the short focal range in this case is making your vehicle look very small. In fact, it looks like I'm looking at a photograph of a real model but a 1/4 inch scale model. If you were going for that look, well done. But if its supposed to be huge I would recommend opening up your DOF.

You are exactly right, when I first rendered the image I thought the same thing in that it just looks like a toy model. I put it down to the texturing and low level of detail on the vehicle. When I get some spare time I'll try rendering it again and change the DOF. Thanks for the advice deci6el :) I might even have a go at tackling the texturing issue again.

Very very excellent work. bravissimo

Nice modeling - it looks functional as well as being aesthetically appealing.

Really kool! you should work on the texturing a little more, then market the neat critter. :-))

The modelling work has good looking. If you want to look huge, add to your scene some element of reference of real life, like a person o trees.

I like it! Cool robot. I think the texturing came out fine, especially the ground surface, despite your difficulties with unwrapping.

Quite a cool little guy- I'd love to see him animated.
