Description

Another PS-tormented FE Hi all, A conundrum here. But, first, let's not confuse anarchy with anomie. But, the question... can the varied schools of anarchist thought, though differing, yet all centered around the general principle that people are inherently capable of functioning minus any organized form of government or bureaucracy, be *soft*...either in the process of attainment..or as an achieved ultimate outcome? Is it inherently oxymoronic to refer to both in context...or not? (Just posing questions for thought. MY mind has long since processed my own on the subject). Surely one thing though...dalliance...dabbling...has no place...as it shouldn't where genuine conviction is ever concerned. The only certainty that exists, dear friends, is that all the answers to all of the questions..are found within each of us...individually...and collectively. Warmest weekend wishes.. Nancy~*

They can be soft, but not for long. Only until the first survival-of-the-fittest scenario appears. Now, if there were a universe where soft equaled fit, ...

A complex set of thoughts to match a darkly beautiful and complex image. You ask many good questions. Your image is exquisite. Bunny

Some pretty heavy questions posed on that one. I personally hope that one day people will put enough effort into actually living according to the ethics we claim to admire enough that we truly don't need a governing body. It's a beautiful, and complex render for those complex questions.

Excellent image! Anarchism (the libertarian communism, not anarcho-libertarism, what´s just an ideological excuse for selfishness imo)is an ideal, not a practical political programme, it´s a guidance for thought and mutual behaviour, but as soon as it becomes a programme or when there are attempts to achieve it with violence, the best thing you´´ll get is decentralized despotism. Anarchist theory underestimates the role of dependences and authority among humans. Authority and dependence were ever there, of cause, the best one is that which you don´t feel, because you´re guided by a person of integrity and honor, but it´s still a form of subordination. The question should be not,if we allow any etatist, bureaucratic or corporate power to exist, it should be about what we can do to defend so much of our freedom that they can´t control our life. The problem that makes anarchist thought needed in our times is, that we´re far beyond the point of being able to live a life along our desires and talents. We´re already domesticated by big business and the state.

Well, you certainly realized an exciting combo of soft and dynamic in your fascinating composition. Excellent work, Nancy! Personally, but speaking universally here, I think we are too much of the "what's-in-it-for-me" and "me first"? oriented. "Soft anarchy" does seem a bit of an oxymoron to me; on the other hand, perhaps that is exactly what we're experiencing now..on some level, anyway. I'm for conviction tempered with compassion; strength that still allows for the exercise of free will for those who don't share our views- be it political, religious or whatever.

Lovely form and detail. Human nature (that's all of us!), being what it is, does not allow for too loose a governing structure, especially when the population is the size that it is. We may be capable of functioning without a relatively tight structure some of the time, but disputes tend to tear things apart. As with communism, it's a nice idea but not very practical. That's my $.02 worth.
