Description

...yet another autumn road :) This time following the curves of a small river, before crossing it over the bridge. Besides the terrain/road work, this is of course very much a study in lighting/atmosphere. Vue 5 Infinite render, heavy one (some 15 hrs.) because of the volumetric atmosphere and sunlight with Global Illumination. Colour/levels corrections, framing & signature with Photoshop. Wow, this is a very nice image, dad. Love the water and the vegetation surrounding the river. The trees are as allways very good looking, you surely do know something about creating trees ;) But the leaves on the road might seem a little to "flat" to me... don't know. Might be something about the texture on the road as well. The lightning is absolutely perfekt - you've really caught the incredible danish autumn-light. ;)

I am absolutely staggered at the flawless beauty and skill of this piece. It reminds me of my favourite stretch of road in Wales between Beddgelert and Llyn Gwynant, on the way to Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon). The care and detail paid to this creation is almost reverant, like a divine worship of autumn, and the sunlight through the trees seems to burst beyond the confines of the screen and illuminate my tired face with the caress of longing. I will weep now....
