Description

nothing spectacular today i`m afraid .i spent most of yesterday afternoon looking for a good spot to take the fireworks display which is done by our local council that would be far enough away from the pushing and shoving crowds .well i found one that i think not to many people would of stood and guess what i got caught in traffic picking june up from work and by the time i`d eventually got her home i could`nt get near the place lol :o)..so i ended up taking these from our front bedroom window thanks as always for your support and comments have a great tuesday mick

We take it for granted here in the UK Mick, I wouldn't have thought a jot about it until I read mbz2662's comment. We celebrate 'The Gunpowder Plot' by 'Guy Fawkes'. Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606) was a member of a group of English Roman Catholics which planned to carry out the Gunpowder Plot, an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I of England, to destroy Protestant rule by killing the Protestant aristocracy, on 5 November 1605. (Text from Wikipedia.) What I don't understand is are we celebrating that he got caught or are we demonstrating because he failed. I still can't make my mind up. Great collage Mick, I didn't even look through the window this year. Bravo!!!!!
