Description

Hello all! Thanks again everybody, for your comments on my last upload. Many pieces of advice that I am going to take into consideration. I wholeheartedly agree with those of you who stated that artistic photographing is about letting others look at the world through your eyes, not technical prowess. That is the exact way I feel too. Still, I want to learn how to handle a camera on a higher level than today. Well, learning never ends, in any area of life, now does it? :) This is a shot from Visby again, on a big rock I found this thriving little society of fungus/lichen. They seemed to have found the perfect place to settle. And as Markablue so aptly commented on my last upload, my macros often tend to display a small landscape. Take care everybody!

I'm so happy that you follow your inspiration and intuition, this is a wonderful macro and you have still learn so much since yesterday.
Keep on trying
Don't forget that Art is an empiric process, making mistakes and try again by learning to correct them.
Excellent work and beautiful result Eva!

I think it kinda reminds me of a coral reef.. I can understand your will to get better technical. but I wanted to say that at least for me, that knowledge halted my photograpich curiosity. It seemed the more I knew, the less I wanted to experiment.. Hopefully that will not be the case for U. /Benny

Wow - it really is a little world unto itself, isn't it? Such wonderful detail. I particularly like those pale green fungus bits. The shape is just really pleasing. (I'm SO glad you understood the rabbit!!! I had begun to think nobody was awake.) :)

Very nice and delicate composition. A typical Scandinavian approach to Nature here :-) It's very very beautiful indeed.

I love those "micro landscapes". A wonderful motive and a great find. :-) But I wonder if you couldn't have found an even better POV for this shot. The violet leaves and their stem draw a rather obvious "demarcation line" between the in-focus lichen and the out-off-focus leaves in the lower left. That (to me at least) cuts the image into two parts that I would consider not so separate at all. Surprisingly, to me at least, the effect is a lot different in the full size view where the added details draw my eye more to the lichen on the far left of the image, even if both images are almost the same size. It's the first time I noticed such a difference in image clarity and detail between both versions of an image at Rosity, given that many full-sized images are a lot larger than the images immediately visible in a gallery.
